Q1. What does being promoted mean to you personally?
Being promoted is a meaningful milestone for me as it represents the trust and recognition that JCL has placed in my efforts. It motivates me to keep growing, contribute more to the company, and set a positive example for my team. On a personal level, it is also a proud achievement that I could provide better to my family and act as role model to my child.
Q2. What challenges did you overcome to reach this milestone?
One of the biggest challenges was transitioning from my initial role as a Japanese translator to taking on sales and leadership responsibilities. I had to learn new products, adapt quickly to the financial industry, and balance multiple tasks while maintaining performance. At the same time, I also needed to reassure my spouse that taking on these new challenges would be worthwhile for our family. With her encouragement and understanding, I was able to stay motivated and push through those difficult moments.
Q3. How has your role evolved since you first joined?
When I first joined, my main responsibility was translation to support communication with our Japanese director and local staff. Over time, I was given the opportunity to handle sales, lead a team, and contribute to product development. Today, my role has grown into one that combines leadership, strategy, and cross-cultural collaboration, allowing me to make a wider impact within JCL.
Q4. What support or mentorship helped you grow?
I am grateful for the guidance of our directors and managers who entrusted me with new responsibilities and believed in my potential. My colleagues have also been a source of constant support, working together to achieve team goals. At the same time, the encouragement from my family gave me the strength to stay focused and motivated throughout my journey.
Q5. What’s one lesson you’ve learned that you now apply daily?
I’ve learned that every challenge is really just an opportunity to grow. Even on tough days, staying positive and putting in steady effort makes a big difference.
