Q1. What attracted you to join this company?
I was drawn to the opportunity to learn about the financing business and curious to see how it differs from my previous experience as a practicing lawyer. This role allows me to learn directly from top management. The exposure to their mindset, business strategies, and determination to succeed is truly invaluable to me.

Q2. What has surprised you most since stepping into your role?
I’m amazed by the wealth of knowledge available here! This company feels like a treasure vault for anyone eager to explore. While my role is new and challenging, the environment encourages curiosity asking questions, seeking answers, and looking beyond legal and compliance to understand the bigger picture of running a corporation.
Q3. How do you see your team contributing to the company’s long-term goals?
Our company’s long-term vision is to grow exponentially and become an organization trusted by the public. Trust must be earned, and that’s where my team plays a critical role. We act as the compliance guardians by ensuring strict adherence to laws and regulations. By operating ethically, lawfully, and efficiently, we’re building a strong foundation that will support sustainable success and public trust.

Q4. What values or culture stood out to you when you first joined?
At JCL, we embrace a unique blend of Malaysian and Japanese culture. The Japanese values of punctuality, discipline, and attention to detail are deeply ingrained here and they truly make a difference. While these standards may seem demanding, they are the qualities that drive excellence. Personally, these values have helped me excel in many aspects of my life.
Q5. What’s your vision for the team or department you’re leading?
My vision is to grow the team and inspire everyone to strive for excellence not just in their work, but in all areas of life. I want them to feel proud of their contributions, empowered in their roles, and ultimately prepared to lead teams of their own one day.
